NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, Nov 5 (TIWN): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday met a Bangladesh delegation led by Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya.
Thanking Bangladesh for its crackdown on Indian insurgent groups operating from its soil, Singh said both countries also have an understanding on addressing various issues of concern, including human trafficking and fake currency.
According to a Home Ministry statement, Maya sought India's help in weather forecasting and real-time sharing of satellite imagery and remote sensing data to minimise the risks of disasters such as floods and cyclones.
He also sought training for Bangladesh personnel in earthquake rescue operations.
"Rajnath Singh assured all help and sharing of all weather inputs, besides extending training facilities to Bangladesh disaster response forces at the Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management and other premier institutions," said the statement.
However, NE India, including Tripura are undergoing heavy disaster risks. In this situation central govt’s help will be much beneficent.
