Agartala, June 5 (TIWN) : A total of 23 Sub Inspectors of un-armed branch (Men) were promoted to the rank of Inspector while 7 Sub inspectors of armed branch (Men) were promoted to Inspector posts (under group-B-gazetted, non-ministerial), in an order issued by the office of the Director General of police (DHP), this evening. They have been placed against overall vacancy in Tripura Police Organisation.
In accordance with the departmental approved list for promotion to the rank of SI of police, altogether 44 Assistant Sub Inspectors of un-armed branch (Men) were promoted to the rank of Sub Inspectors un-armed branch (Men) on officiating basis against the existing vacancies. In total 7 Assistant Sub inspectors of un-armed branch (Woman) were promoted to Sub Inspectors un-armed branch (Woman) rank.
Formal order of promotion would be issued by the respective head of office of the unit/ districts where they are to join on promotion, an official confirmed. Promotion will till take effect only from the date of joining in the districts/unit where they are posted on promotion.
The sources confirmed, the approval would be subject to the condition that no departmental proceeding/ criminal case is either pending or contemplated against each of them and they are free from any under going punishment.
The promoted officers have to undergo prescribed training on investigation for a period of 6 weeks under KTD Singh Police Training Academy, Narshingarh. The DGP C. Balasubramanium in the order requested all the respective heads of the office to release them to report to the Principal of the Training Centre.
