AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): In a rally held at Agartala, keeping eyes on the bi-election, CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar urged the public to vote for Jhumu Sarkar who has been elected as the CPI-M candidate for Barjala constituency.
The bi-election to be held on Nov 19 for 2 constituencies : 25 Khowai & Barjala (Agartala).
However, massive rally was organized for Jhumu Sarkar in Agartala, whereas at Khowai same was done on behalf of CPI-M.
After Congress MLA Jiten Sarkar had resigned from his MLA post to join CPI-M , from that time the seat has been vacant against which now bi-poll will be held.
On the other hand at Khowai, CPI-M MLA Samir Deb Sarkar who passed away on August 28 last, left his seat vacant. Thus poll is to be held for his vacant post.
From CPI-M Jhumu Sarkar (for Barjala) & Biswajit Datta (for Khowai) have been selected as the candidates.
