Agartala, May 27 (TIWN): In a tragic road mishap about 9.30 am at Nalchar Market Chowmohani, one pedestrian died, this morning.
A Max vehicle bearing the registration No.TR-1-B-3328 while proceeding towards Bishramganj from Sonamura dashed one Manoranjan Debnath (77) at Nalchar Market Chowmohani on Agartala – Sonamura road, this morning. The accident was occurred due to rash and negligent driving on the part of the driver of the vehicle informed the eye-witnesses.
As a result, Manoranjan Debnath, a resident of Laxmandepa area under Melagarh police station received grievous injuries on his person. Later, he was shifted to GBP Hospital wherein he succumbed to his injuries at about 5.15 pm, this evening.
Of late, police of Melagarh police station rushed to the place of occurrence and seized the offending vehicle. A specific case has been registered at Melagarh police station. Police could not arrest the driver of the offending vehicle as the driver escaped from the place after the accident.
