Agartala, Sept 26 (TIWN) The monsoon session of the Tripura assembly begun here Thursday with a stormy note as the opposition Congress members have raised forceful objection against misrule of the government including recent ill-treatment in Gobinda Ballav Pant government medical college and hospital.

After the appointment of new opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman, this is the first session of the Tripura assembly.

The fourth session of the eleventh Tripura assembly will continue up to Sept 30.

An amendment bill proposing increase of salaries and allowances of the legislatures, ministers, speaker, deputy speaker and opposition leader will move in the session.

A bill proposing the amendment of the Tripura Municipal Act, 1994 suggesting upgrading the Agartala Municipal Council into a corporation and some Nagar Panchayats into Municipal Councils will be tabled in the session.

Besides, panchayat amendment act bill, land records and settlement bill, horticulture related bill will also be presented in the session, which will sit on Thursday, Friday and Monday.

To protect the doctors, health service personnel and workers and the government properties associated with the health services, a bill – the Tripura Medicare service persons and Medicare service institutions (prevention of violence and damage to property) bill, 2013 will be reintroduced in the session.
