Khowai, May 22 (TIWN): The trial into the Nilima Debbarma murder case began at the Additional District and Session Court here yesterday.The candidate of NCT party of No-1 ward of Shikaribari ADC village under Tulashikar block- Nilima Debbarma was murdered at night before the election on February 18, 2011. The body was found by the local people on May 19, 2011. They alleged that some TSR jawans of 6Bn TSR camp killed her post rape.

Of late, her father logged a written complaint against four TSR jawans at Champahour police station. Later, the police had arrested them started investigation about the murder case. Then as per the demands of NCT including other opposition parties, the state government handed over the case to the CBI for further investigation. After the completion of the investigation CBI submitted the charge-sheet before the court. In the mean time, out of four allegedly accused persons, one jawan was acquitted during polygraph test.

CBI prepared the charge-sheet accusing Narayan Ghosh under section 302/34, Dipak Tripura under section 376/302/34 and Ananta Hari Jamatia under section 376/302/34 of Indian Penal Code. The statement record procedure was started on yesterday and ended today. The trial would again start on June 3.

A total of 30 witness’s statement would be recorded before the court into the Nilima murder case. The case was moved by the prosecutor Prabir Saha in favour of the CBI and prosecutor Samrat Kar Bhowmik and Subrata Sarkar moved the case in favour of the culprits.
