AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): Finally Tripura Govt. is going to adopt GST bill on next Assembly session.
Assembly speaker Ramendra Chandra Nath said that on Sep 22 the assembly to begin & to end on 26. However, he said that no decision has been taken about what bill will be adopted but GST bill may be passed.
GST stands for "Goods and Services Tax", and is proposed to be a comprehensive indirect tax levy on manufacture, sale and consumption of goods as well as services at the national level.
The long-delayed GST Constitution bill was passed by Parliament on August, marking a historic step for tax reforms which Prime Minister Narendra Modi said was “crucial” for ending tax terrorism besides reducing corruption and black money.
