AGARTALA, May21 (TIWN): Advocate general of Tripura, Bijan Das along with Dr. K Rajeshwara Rao principal secretary of school education department, D. M. Jamatia law secretary and P.K. Chakraborty director of school education left for Delhi to appeal after discussion with senior lawyers of Supreme Court regarding terminating jobs of 10,323 government school teachers, Minister for School Education Tapan Chakraborty said.
Speaking to reporters at secretariat on Wednesday evening, the minister said state government is behind the terminated teachers and interest of all will be protected.
The Tripura government Saturday decided to appeal to the Supreme Court against the Tripura High Court judgment on terminating jobs of 10,323 government school teachers.
Tripura's Left Front government recruited 1,100 post-graduate, 4,617 graduate in 2010 and 4,606 under-graduate teachers in December last year.”The main opposition parties, including the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party and the Trinamool Congress, welcomed the court's verdict and sought fresh recruitment process. They also demanded resignation of the chief minister.
