KAMALAPUR, Sep 18 (TIWN): The last rites of the drowned school boy Rahul Debbarma (16) who died due to drowning into the river Dhalai on 10th September last, was performed through social works.
The bereaved parents donated dresses to 55 kids of a local Ashram and also donated electronic gadget to singer troops.
The last rites of the deceased school boy Rahul was performed at his paternal house at Singinala under Salema police station. The father of Rahul, Surajit Debbarma performed the rituals in a heavy air.
After completion of the rites, 55 kids of local Ratanmani Sebashram were given dresses. Moreover, mobile and other electronic gadgets were also donated to the local singer troops.
Later, Surajit informed TIWN that, he tried to soothe his aching heart by donating some materials in memory of his untimely deceased son. He further claimed that, he found resemblance of his son among those kids.
It might be mentioned here that, Rahul died due to drowning on 10th September last while he came along with four of his classmates to have a bath in the river Dhalai.
After a day long effort the rescue parties failed to trace out the corpse and then a local fisherman dived deep into the river and rescued the corpse from a deep gorge of the river.
