AGARTALA, Sep 9 (TIWN): Tripura’s two Student Unions’ called strikes paralyzed 3 College Classes in Agartala.
Whereas TMCP had called strike at MBB College, counter attacking TMCP, SFI called strike in 3 Colleges: BBMC, MBB, Women’s College.
Following a major clash developed between SFI and TMCP, during nomination paper submission at MBB College Election, where TMCP’s two members left injured seriously, TMCP members announced strike on this Friday.
The ruling party backed SFI extended the strike alleging that TMCP members were the actual culprits-- called strike in 3 degree Colleges.
However, Education Minister asked both the unions to maintain the peace.
SP West Abhijit Saptarshi said, “Election must be in Democratic manner”. Till now no unwanted incidents have been reported.
Huge number of Police have been deployed before various colleges.
