AGARTALA, Sep 9 (TIWN): Tripura still has around 1 lakhs of illiterate people, among 37 lakhs of its total population, said Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Thursday at Rabindra Bhawan.
More than 35,000 people who are below 50 have been marked as illiterate and around 63,000 people are above 50 who are illiterate.
However, govt. is trying to fill the gap, said CM on Thursday.
But, Tripura has around 7 lakhs of unemployed youth and for a single post thousand of unemployed are found to gather together. (However, CM didn’t talked about that).
About skill development Chief Minister said, there are 25 skill development centres in state and more centres to be opened in coming days, so that they can utilize that part of training to earn their livelihoods.
“Alongwith the overall literacy rate, Tripura may stand in 1st position in Women literacy also”, said CM.
