Belonia, May 17 (TIWN): After a long 22-year, police finally netted a gang-rape accused from Kathalia area under Jatrapur police station at around 10 pm, yesterday. The arrested rapist was identified as Dipak Dey (52), a resident of Beltilla under Belonia sub-division.
It is being reported, Dipak’s sister-in-law, a resident of Chittamara of Belonia sub-division went to the house of Dipak for visit in the year1992. After that, Dipak had taken her in an old room of the Belonia Nagar Panchayat. Later, Dipak Dey including his friends raped her brutally. However, the police had arrested later one of the rapists Ram Singh and he was sentenced to jail. But police could not arrest the main culprit Dipak.
Dipak was absconding and lived in other state for long period. Then he was returned and started living at Kathalia area under Sonamura sub-division. Of late, based on secret information police of Belonia police station led by OC Swapan Sarkar arrested the rapist Dipak at around 10 pm, yesterday. A specific case has been registered against the rapist Dipak Dey at the Belonia police station under section 342/376 of Indian Penal Code.
On the other hand, police of Hrishyamukh police station today arrested a 20-year-old boy Kanti Tripura, a resident of Chankhala area under Kailasnagar ADC village for raping a 13-year-old minor girl.
