KAMALPUR, Aug 29 (TIWN): The long unrestrained rule of CPI-M made them to claim the state to be in golden situation in every aspect.
The ministers, party leaders and all the related often claimed in trumpeting tune to be in the extreme of excellence. But, such an administration failed to ensure minimum living to handicapped mother and son who remained in a bed-ridden condition. The inhuman incident happened at Kalachari panchayat at ward number 02.
Deceased Kalipada Roy, labourer by profession, was the resident of this ward. His wife Rina Roy (60) and son Sukuamr Roy (34) were handicapped. As both of them remained bed-ridden, hence nothing had been cooked in their house for last one year.
Sukumar’s elder sister used to bring food for them twice or thrice a week from Nakful of Halhali, covering a distance of 10 kilometres. Rest of the days they had to fast. The local panchayat managed Old Age Pension and Handicapped Pension for them.
But they could not collect the pension from the bank on their own. They had to take help from any other person by giving one day’s wage to that person.
But the administration remained in utter darkness about them. The mother and son duo wanted that either the government would look into them or else bless them with death.
