AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Tripura lawyers association on Saturday felicitated Tripura High Court Justice UB Saha after he confirmed his retirement.
After working for constant 10 years Tripura HC justice UB Saha took retirement. He took retirement on August 24 and the lawyer’s association felicitated him on Saturday.
Born on 25th August, 1954 in a middle class family of Udaipur, South Tripura. Did his schooling from K.B.Institution, Udaipur, passed B.A. from Bir Bikram Evening College, Agartala and completed MA (Journalism), LL.B., from Calcutta University.
Enrolled as an Advocate on 6th June, 1978. Had practice specially Constitutional, Service, Administrative, Civil and Criminal matters in the Gauhati High Court at Agartala Bench, Subordinate Courts in Tripura as well as at Principal Seat at Guwahati.
In the year 1983-84 elected, as, Assistant Secretary of Tripura Bar Association, Agartala and in the year 1986 and 1993 elected as Member of the Executive Committee of the said Bar Association.
Since 2004, he was Secretary, High Court Bar Association, Agartala, Tripura, was the Joint Secretary of All India Lawyers Union. Associated with Ram Thakur Law College, Agartala and Tripura Govt. Law College, as Part-Time Lecturer. Held the Office of the Government Advocate, Tripura since 1993 till his elevation and also held office of the Public Prosecutor of Tripura, Gauhati High Court, Agartala Bench, in the year 1993 for 6(six) months and then resigned.
Designated as Senior Advocate in the year 1999 and since then functioned as Senior Government Advocate. Delivered Lectures in number of Seminars on important subjects and topics of National Interest. Elevated as Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court on. Became permanent Judge w.e.f. 15.07.2008.
His Lordship took oath as Judge of Tripura High Court on 23.3.2013 and retired on 24th August, 2016 on superannuation .
