AGARTALA, Aug 17 (TIWN): Minister Shahid Chowdhury felicitated all the Haj Yatris at Agartala Airport who left from Tripura for their religious journey on Wednesday.
Like other years Haj Yatra was organized by the Government of India. The scheduled place to offer their prayer is at Mecca, Saudi Arabia. According to Tripura Haj Committee this year 84 people went for Haj Pilgrimage. Haj Yatris were given felicitation at the Airport.
Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, and a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their life time by all adult Muslims if possible.
It is one of the five pillars of Islam, alongside Shahadah, Salat, Zakat and Sawm. However, the gather during the Hajj is considered the largest annual gathering of people in the world.
