AGARTALA, Aug 16 (TIWN): Tripura Gramin Bank joint forum association including Tripura Gramin Bank Karmachari samiti, Tripura Gramin Bank officers union and Tripura Gramin Bank retired staff association on Tuesday sat for relay hunger strike from August 16 to 20at Abhoynagar demanding regularisation of the employees working in the post of office assistant in Tripura Gramin bank and to hike the salary of sanitation workers.
It is to be mentioned here that this hunger strike will be carried out by 9 groups.
The protest was mainly held by Tripura Gramin Bank joint forum association including Tripura Gramin Bank Karmachari samiti, Tripura Gramin Bank officers union and Tripura Gramin Bank retired staff association demanding the regularisation of the employees working in the post of office assistant in Tripura Gramin bank and to hike the salary of sanitation workers.
The protestors alleged that although recruitment has began into Tripura Gramin bank but still today 125 post of office assistant is lying vacant. Apart around 200 DRW workers are working in Tripura gramin work and even there are employees who are working for 25 years. The protestors have demanded to regularise this DRW employees a conduct new recruitment into their post.
It is to be mentioned here that Tripura Gramin Bank joint forum association earlier also hold demonstration at Abhoynagar, the protester their demanded to launch pension facility, to introduce die- in- harness in the gramin bank, to cancel the SK Mitra committee report immediately, to promote from scale- 4 to scale 5, to close the Gramin Bank out source, to increase the salary of the sanitation worker.
Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) is not only Tripura's own bank but it is also the sheet anchor for the people of the state in terms of dedicated banking service.
However, during the protest on Tuesday, General Secretary of Tripura Gramin Bank Employee Association Bimal Kar, General Secretary of Tripura Gramin Bank Officers Union Bijon Dhar, and others were present.
