AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): To clear the doubt over the status of Manarchak power project, the Ministry of Power today asked the ONGC and NEEPCO to conduct a joint inspection tomorrow.
Following the instruction, the Executive Director of NEEPCO and the Head of Engineering, ONGC Tripura Asset would be visiting the Manarchak plant tomorrow itself to review the status of the project.
After on-spot inspection, they will submit a status report to the Ministry of Power for taking necessary steps. The joint inspection has been ordered after NEEPCO’s claim and ONGC’s counter claim over the progress of Manarchak power plant at a high level meeting held in Delhi yesterday.
While the NEEPCO’s CMD has claimed that the plant was ready for power generation while the ONGC’s Asset Manager has refuted the claim.
