AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): In a major jolt for Agartala people, the property-tax has been increased. AMC has also declared that in compare with WB the tax is very less. But AMC didn't mention about people's poor salary under state Govt, less source of Income, and economic bad condition of state.

Thus in a press meet BJP spokesperson M K Deb told media that Municipality is changing various rules to grab more public fund. Assessment and Collection of Property tax will screw the public now, Deb said.

He said, the way the Annual Value property has been considered it will become too much costly to live for people.

Agartala town has been divided into 4 parts A B C D, among which minimum value is Rs. 500 per square feet, with 10 % unit value area. So 1 Ganda = Rs. 864/- SF. So in Agartala City the people who has A Caterory house ( 3ganda) he has to give every month 19,800/- and every year he has to give- 1 lakh 29 thousand 600/-

Question arises, why suddenly Municipality is becoming so much money-sucker?
