AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): Jitendra Chaudhury along with Shankar Prasad Dutta and Jharna Das Baidya met Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Rural Development, on Thursday.
The meeting focused on fund allocation under MoRD to TRRDA.
MPs claimed that due to less flow of fund, since 2014-15 onwards, number of projects are remaining incomplete and half done.
Till June 2016, total amount of sanction is Rs. 3016.38 crores against all projects, but release is only Rs.2189.44 crores. Hence, MoRD is yet to release Rs. 826.94 crores, which may be taken care of on priority
During the year 2015-16 total 357.26 km has been constructed, against which payment of Rs. 421.25 crores has been made, but unfortunately the release from MoRTH was only Rs. 264.54 crores. MPs claimed that the state Government has already released Rs. 26.00 crores against the proportionate matching share. TRRDA has also submitted the UC of 421.25 crores. Hence, total dues of FY 2015-16 are Rs. 130.71 crores.
So, in total Tripura Govt. has sought Rs. 958 crores of fund from MoRD.
