AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): Whereas the West Tripura Police has failed to catch a rapist even after 9 days of passage amidst protests held before Chief Minister’s Residence, West Women Police Station; on other hand South Tripura police has gabbed both the accused within 48 hours of passage.
Talking to South SP Banhupada Chakraborty he said, “South Tripura police had arrested bus driver Parimal Debnath on Tuesday, and on Wednesday the conductor of the bus named Joydeb Deb was arrested and to be produced before the court”.
The incident occurred while a bus was going from Belonia Rajnagar to Radhanagar. The victim fall asleep and forgot to come down of the bus in her destination. But after all other left the bus, the bus driver took the bus far but she was still sleeping.
Taking the opportunity of the empty bus, the bus driver Parimal Debnath and the conductor Joydeb Deb raped her brutally.
On that very night FIR was lodged against the mentioned persons. Atalst police successfully caught both the rapists.
Immediately the incident spread up, the opposition parties on Tuesday evening staged mass protests in Agartala against the brutal rape incident.
South Tripura women police have done an appreciable job on their part, but on the other hand West Tripura Police has failed to catch the rapist like Panna Ahmed even after 9 days of passage—whereas police head officials all are here to suggest/ guide the police force.
