AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s controversial remark at Najurul Kalaskhetra on Saturday has erupted questions about what should be the role of police in society !
Addressing the felicitation progamme for the top rankers in Madhyamik & Higher Secondary Exam, organized by TGTA, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar along with other issues also raised the issue of increasing crime against women in Tripura’s society.
Stressing the issue Sarkar said, ‘Everyone is aware of the increasing crime against women, and all are busy to put blame on the Police Dept’. ‘But the police, law and court alone can’t diminish the such crimes’, said Sarkar.
‘From Childhood a boy should be given the lesson of how to think about women, and also a girl need to be provided with behavioral knowledge in a refined way’, he added. ‘In this way a better society will be developed by increasing social awareness within the children’, he said.
However, CM’s wise speeches are almost honey-quoted to listen, but how can CM deny about strict law and order needed for a state?
It’s worthy to mention here that 5 days have gone Tripura police could not catch the rapist Panna Ahmed Yet. But CM didn’t comment about this issue, rather he lectured for social-awareness.
This TCS officer and former Sonamura SDM Panna Ahmed, has brutally raped woman, who is mother of 2 children, and came to meet Panna Ahmed at his home in search of rent at Agartala Ramnagar. Taking advantage of situation, Panna Ahmed tortured her, beaten her and then raped her for hours.
But Tripura’s wisest Chief Minister today has lectured about the behavioral lesson for the Girl Child, whether he could lecture them to learn self defense to save themselves from the “Lawless” society.
