SANTIRBAZR, June 15 (TIWN): MP Jiten visited Holycross School, Twi-Kormo, after a gap of couple of years. The school is situated in the lap of lush green and serene beauty of nature, at the left side of 44-National Highway(Agartala - Sabroom Road), at 1.5 kms distance from the road.
The school is having enrolment of 1107 students from KG to Xth Class, almost 95 p.c. students are Kok-Borok speaking. The school has been progressing inch by inch and performing well in Board Exam. for last couple of years.
This year 50 students have passed Madhyamik Exam. Out of 51 years appeared under Tripura Board. The school needs up-gradation to Secondary stage (10+2 classes) with Science and Commerce streams in order to avoid hazards of the parents and students to find English Medium schools within their reach.
Mp Jiten have assured the school authority to extend necessary assistances in their effort to construct additional 5 rooms, which shall cost Rs. 50 lakhs approx., which are essential for opening of XI and XII classes.
