AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): Tripura observes World Blood Donation Day-2016 on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar inaugurated the programme at Najrul Kalaskhetra amidst school students, teachers, Govt. officials and other dignitaries.

World Blood Donor Day for 2016 has been celebrated with the theme of “Blood Connects us All”.

Every year on 14 June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD).

The event, established in 2004, serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their voluntary  life-saving gifts of blood.

As transfer of  and blood products helps save millions of lives, SO across the state this day has been marked by organizing various blood donation camps.

On that occasion Tripura CM inspired the people of Tripura to forward hands for voluntary blood donation
