AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): Tripura Hawkers Union held a massive rally on Tuesday congratulating the state govt. for launching amended Rules and Schemes to the Street Vendors.
The Street vendors in the Capital city have finally got clarity on the rules guiding them, with the Tripura government notifying the amended Rules and Schemes to the Street Vendors’ (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending).
For the welfare of the vendors / hawkers state to launch this vendor safety policy as there have been continuous frictions between hawkers and the Govt./ Municipal and the public.
However, the launching of Vendor safety act may diminish the problem, it was said by Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha on June 7.
On Tuesday in a press meet Finance Minister Bahnulal Saha announced about the vendor policy which are to be followed by state.
Street vendors are an integral part of urban economies around the world, offering easy access to a wide range of goods and services in public spaces, said Saha.
They sell everything from fresh vegetables to prepared foods, from building materials to garments and crafts, from consumer electronics to auto repairs to haircuts, he added.
The launching of new vendor act will work in the benefit of public.
