AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN/IANS) The principal of a primary school in Tripura has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl student, police said here on Monday.

The accused, 36, is a principal of a private school in Kanchanpur and allegedly raped the nine-year-old girl student several times at his residence in the school complex since October last year, police spokesman Uttam Kumar Bhowmik said.

"The girl's mother on Sunday filed an FIR against him," Bhowmik added.

"According to the girl's mother, the accused also showed her daughter nude and offensive videos," he added.

Recently, when the girl came home, she disclosed these horrific incidents to her parents and was reluctant to return to school.

The accused principal is a resident of Karnataka. 

Police are probing the incident.
