KAMALPUR, May 10 (TIWN): The hooliganism of SFI led by a Councilor of Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat distorted the atmosphere of Kamalpur College this afternoon. The family members of an earlier beaten student of 2 nd year namely Alak Deb of Ambassa who remained well-known BJP workers and supporters were beaten and harassed at College in front of the Principal. It happened as the persons went to meet the Principal to condemn the barbaric attack of Alak last Saturday.

Last Saturday when Alak came to the College for oral examination, he was summoned into a room. There he was beaten by SFI activist for not accepting membership. One of them even made him to drink urine.

On that very day, Alak filed a case against the torturing students namely Debaranjan Das, Manoj Sinha and Birajit Debbarma with Kamalpur police. His grandfather and erstwhile BJP State President Tejendra Deb and local leaders from Kamalpur contacted with the Principal in this regard.

According to appointment, Tejendra Deb, Shankar Chakraborty, Gopal Sutradhar along with Alak from Ambassa went to the College accompanied by BJP Kamalpur Mondal President Prashanta Sinha and Advocate Shyamal Paul to discuss the matter with the Principal.

When they were interacting with the Principal Dr. Chchanda Bhattacharyaa in her room, SFI activists attacked Alak who was outside the room. Hearing the hue and cry when his family members and relatives came outside the room the Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat Councilor Raja Majumder and SFI activists Suleman Ali, Debaranjan Das, Manoj Sinha and Birajit Debbarma attacked them.

Somehow they escaped the attack. They also filed a complaint with Kamalpur police. Alak and Gopal Sutradhar got admitted into BSM Hospital. However, the SFI leadership also made a list of three injured and made them to be admitted in the hospital.

It might be mentioned here that, during some recent years, the hooliganism and barbarism of some of the SFI activists went beyond limit and the CPI-M party leadership continued to patronage them for their party’s sake.
