AGARTALA, April 21 (TIWN): Minority welfare department, Tripura state committee on Thursday organised 5 hours long mass demonstration at swami vivekanada stadium with 10 charters of demands.
Allowance for the imam of the mosque, to constitute Madrassa board in state, to declare the Muslims as OBC as per the norms of the Rangnath Commission report, to pay compensation to the families who were effected for land acquisition along with a total of 10 charter of demands the Minority welfare department holds 5 hour long mass demonstration at swami Vivekananda stadium.
It is to be mentioned here that government-appointed Justice Rangnath Commission has recommended 10% reservation for Muslims and 5% for other minorities in government jobs and favoured Scheduled Caste status for Dalits in all religions.
The report of the National Commission for Religious and Linguistic Minorities, headed by former Chief Justice of India Rangnath Mishra, was tabled by Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid in the Lok Sabha.

The Commission was notified in October 2004 and began functioning in 2005. Two years later, it submitted its report to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in May 2007.
