AGARTALA, April 14 (TIWN): Price hike could not bring losses to the businessmen here in the day of Bengali New Year.
Vegetable and non vegetable markets on Thursday across Tripura attracted customers gathering successfully amidst price hike.
Reportedly, non-veg market business went high from Wednesday afternoon, and still high on Thursday morning.
Sweets shops are today filled with customers.
It’s to be mentioned here Bengali New Year is celebrated not only as a holiday here, but it’s more a kind of getting together with family and friends here.
So for all these food shops’ demand went high today like every year.
Bengali New Year 1423 has begun here at dawn, and the day is already marked with singing, processions, and fairs. Traditionally, businesses start this day with a new ledger, clearing out the old.
Like other festivals of the region, the day is marked by visiting relatives, friends and neighbors. People prepare special dishes for their guests.
