AGARTALA, April 11 (TIWN): Tripura Minority welfare Department on Monday organized an award distribution programme with an aim to inspire the students to do well in their education.
In the programme organized at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, it has been mentioned that Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Memorial Award is for inspiring the student of Madrassa Madhyamik (Alim)/ Madhyamik and H.S/ Madrassa H.S (Fazil) who have secured at least 60 percent marks or above marks.
The initiatives has been taken in the year 2005, aiming to encourage the student to secure more marks in their examination.
It has been mentioned that the students who secure 60 percent or more in Madrassa (Alim) and Madhyamik exam is awarded with Rs. 2, 000 each and the students who have secured 60 percent and more in Madrassa H.S (Fazil) are being awarded with Rs. 3000 each.
Similarly, Begam Rokeya Gold Medal Awarded to the Muslim girls who topped in Madyamik, Alim, Higher Secondary and Fazil examination.
The award has been introduced in the year 2012.
It has been mentioned that at present Begam Rokeya awardees are provided with the cash award of Rs. 10, 000 to each topper and a gold medal worthing Rs. 5, 000 along with certificate.
On the other hand, Minorities welfare Department has introduced a new programme of awarding to the renowned sports person and cultural activist belonging to minority community from the year 2014.
The champion were provided with Rs. 2, 500 and certificate, second runner up were provided with Rs. 1, 750 and the thirds with Rs. 1, 000.
However, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has inaugurated the programme and awarded the students.
