AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): Tripura University scheduled to organize a six-day long cultural fest UDBHAAS 2015-16 on Friday at Surjyamani Nagar.
These six-day long cultural programmes shall comprise of Inter-college and Intradepartment Competitions, Quize, debate, solo, vocal, solo Dance and other completions. Besides, nights of folk, classical, semi classical and light musical performances will also be conducted.
According to the schedule, in the inter-college competition, a total of 45 affiliated colleges of the University shall be participating.
It is to be mentioned here that around 5000 members taking the regular students, research scholars, faculties, non-teaching staff members and officers. Besides, in addition, there are 13, 000 students studying in ODL mode under Tripura University Directorate of Distance Education.
During the programme, Nanda Kumar Debbarma, Late Umashankar Chakraborty and Agni Kumar Acharya have been scheduled to be felicitated for their contribution to field of performing art.
UDBHAAS-2015-16 is expected to be inaugurated on Friday evening at Maharaja Bir Birkram Memorial Auditorium.
The programme is expected to continue till Wednesday. Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College, the first degree college in the State, started functioning under the University of Calcutta only in 1947.
