AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): With the beginning of the construction of flyover, traffic jam has become regular issue for the common mass.
Despite of prolonged many months has passed, the authority yet fails to curb done the massive traffic jam.
Although the Transport Department has deployed several traffic personnel to curb down the traffic jam yet it seems the department fails to curb it down.
Besides, initiatives are being taken to evict the hawker from the footpaths so that pedestrians can use the footpath instead of road which could help to curb down the traffic jam.
It is to be mentioned here that along with the hawkers the shop owners also encroaches the foot paths to display their items of the shop.
Roads of Sakuntala and footpaths of Kamanchoumuhani is occupied by the shopkeepers but despite of prolonged many days no initiatives are taken.
Therefore, people had to use to road to walk creating traffic congestion and risking their life.
It is also to be mention here that the unorganised parking of vehicles at the middle of the road and loading and unloading passengers have disrupted the vehicle movement.
Public has been suffering immensely day after day and it is expected that it will continue until the flyover work gets over.
However, driving through this route has merely become impossible. Irregular parking of vehicles, commuting passengers from any spot of the road, parking of the school vehicles at odd spots leads to the traffic jam.
Once fly over is constructed, vehicles from the Nagerjala bus stand will continue to ply on the same path which is expected to reduced the traffic congestion.
The first ever 2-lane flyover in the capital city will lower the traffic jam by at least 40% to 45% and it will make a smooth fast track movement of the vehicles but the period of the construction is creating havoc.
The main motive of creating the flyover bridge is to seek solution to hectic traffic jam at Battala. As day by day the population and the number of vehicles are increasing, the problem is arising in traffic system too.
However, despite of several complains and initiatives some unruly auto drivers continues to hit the common mass.
