KAMALPUR, March 22 (TIWN): As per pre-announced program, the Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat started drive against the illegal construction beside the road by the businessmen and dwellers. However, the businessmen protested against it in their own narrow interest.

After the taking of charge by the new board, the Chairperson told TIWN in an interview that, the new board would set its priority for the beautification of the town area. And keeping in pace with that, the board initiated for breaking up of illegal construction by some of the businessmen and some dwellers in front of their premise, creating obstacles of clear side viewing of the road. It got necessary even for the smooth driving and decreasing road-accidents. The task force of Nagar Panchayat along with police conducted drive against such constructions today, near the UBI branch area.

However, the businessmen protested against such drive on their narrow interests and the task force continued their tasks advising them to contact with the Nagar Panchayat authority.
