NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): MP Jiten once again raised a demand in Loksabha, to set up atleast 5 more Kendriya Vidyalaya & Novodoya Vidyalaya here in Tripura.
There are only 6(six) Kendriya Vidyalaya and 3(three) Novodoya Vidyalayas at present in the State, against 8(eight) Districts. Out of6(six) Kendriya Vidyalayas, the schools at ONGC Colony(Badharghat), Bokafa(Shantir Bazar) and Panisagar(North Tripura) are established against PSU and CPMF Quotas. Hence admission of local students is restricted there.
However, Jiten Chowdhury said, “I rise here to raise a very important demand of Tripura. As everyone will consider, there are certain institutions play a pivotal role in building the society. Kendriya Vidyalaya and Novodoya Vidyalayas are as such, while these are established in far flung areas of the country, excels beyond their mandates. Kendriya Vidyalaya and Novodoya Vidyalayas are playing the role of nation building, not because of the syllabus contents, but for offering unique opportunities to mingle with the children of the cross sections, mainlanders with the remote ones and remote ones with the mainlanders.
Chowdhury further urged the Ministry of Human Resource Developmentto set up another 5(five) Kendriya Vidyalaya and Novodoya Vidyalayas each on urgent basis to the un-covered Districts, i.e.; Kendriya Vidyalayas in South Tripura, Gomti, Sepoyjola, Khowai and North Tripura Districts AND Novodoya Vidyalayas in South Tripura, Sepahijola, West Tripura, Unakoti and North Tripura Districts.
