TELIAMURA, March 12 (TIWN) : Sudden attack by wild elephant created much turmoil among the villagers of Janapad Bahdur, at Kalyanpur under Teliamura.
The incident took place on Friday late night, when villagers were sleeping and nobody had any assumption about the incident.
The highest victim family from the incident has been identified as of Binay Debbama. During night time when all the family members of Binay Debbarma were in deep sleep, a wild elephant entered the village and started massive damages and then attacked the home of Binay Debbarma.
Sudden attack of the elephant was totally unexpected by that family, however they managed to escape from the place.
Including TV, fridge and almirah and other infrastructure had been damaged during the attack.
Then more houses had been attacked by the wild elephant and out of fear villagers were running here and there during that time.
Allegations are coming that instead of informing the Forest Dept. nobody came and controlled the situation. Moreover, villagers are alleging that in every months such incidents occur at there, but the department has no concern about this.
Villagers are presently undergoing tension and panic has gripped the tribal area at Kalyanpur. In total 26 families live there.
However, no death or major incident has been reported.
