DHARMANAGAR, March 9 (TIWN) : With the budget of atleast Rs. 6 lakhs, Dharmanagar Book fair-2016, which is to be inaugurated on March 10, is undergoing with major possibilities of losses with its un-booked 44 stalls.
Reportedly, at Dharmangar in total 44 stalls have been arranged but none of them has been booked yet by any businessman.
According to the reports, on Tuesday, via a press meet Shakti Bhattacharjee, Chairman of Dhamanagar Municipal Corporation told the media that the budget of the book fair is around Rs. 6 lakhs and Dharmanagar Administration is hopeful that this book fair will draw public’s attention this time.
However, whether the book fair earlier was held at Bir Bikram Institution School field, this time the fair has been shifted to Old Motor Stand ground.
Moreover, allegations are coming that the businessmen who came in Dharmanagar Book fair-2015 had suffered a lot due to the poor arrangement for their fooding & lodging. On the other hand, a huge amount of tax they had to give, whether business was at a loss.
As a result, there is no urgency to book the stalls among the businessmen for Dharmanagar.
However, the quality of work for Book-fair preparation, is not worthy of Rs. 1 lakh rupees also and thus allegations of fund embezzlement are raising against the authority of Dharmanagar.
