AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN) : On the eve of International Women’s Day-2016, Tripura Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty says that “Education is the first step for developing a section of people and thus for women also, Education comes firstâ€. “The countries which are developing fast, if we look, it will show that Education is the key behind this development and women sharing the half population have rights to produce the same amount of human resource for the society like menâ€. Displaying the participation of women of Tripura in Education field, he further said, “In Tripura, Women are really doing good in regard of Education. In Board Examinations it’s often seen that the passing percentage of girls are higher than the boys, which is really appreciableâ€. “However, women are still lagging behind than men due to lack of Education amongst the parents, but the state Govt. is trying to utilize the central funds for progressing Education in Tripuraâ€, says Minister. However Minister avoided topics about the massive unemployments, rapid escalation of violence against women, statewide rapes, murders of girls from the age of 6, starvation deaths of women.
“Men and Women are equal and women should equally be considered as Human Resource, as men are considered”, says Chakraborty. “But without Education the inner manifestation of human power is just not possible”, he added.
Appreciating the Central Govt, Minister said, “I appreciate the slogan of Govt. of India on International Women’s Day, to equal all men and women rights within 5 years”.
However, he also criticized further the central govt. and other state Govts and said, “In allover India, Tripura is an example for Education, for its highest literacy rate. So if a small state like Tripura can receive such an achievement, then why the whole country couldn’t do it till day?”
Tapan Chakraborty also said that society has a huge responsibility to uplift women. “However, the society here has developed a lot, and hopefully it will upgrade more within years”, says Minsiter.
Minister further urged the society, including the parents to help the govt. to educate the Girl children, and said, “Parents and society both are requested to nurture girl-children as they will be manifested into well-productive human resource in future”.
