AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Absence of fencing at the Indo-Bangla border area leads to rampant intrusion of illegal items in the State.
It is to be mentioned here that as has not become possible for installing fence in all the border areas, BSF are keeping strict vigilance in the area.
Question arises if the BSF are carrying out their duty properly than how come rampant smuggling occurs in the border adjacent area.
Reportedly, the miscreant manages to cut the fence in the border and later at night they accomplish the loot in the area.
Despite of number of BSF carries out their duty at the area, smuggling goes rampant over the area.
On the other hand, fencing work for the 485 metre of border area is almost complete. However, due to the absence of the border areas people are facing prolonged harassment.
With the absence of the fence in the border areas the resident s in the areas are hit with rampant stealing of items including stealing of Cow and other valuable items through border areas.
Besides, the miscreants also smuggle phensedyl and illegal items through the area including kidnapping and human trafficking in various parts of the border areas in the state.
It is to be mentioned here that the prolonged smuggling in various areas has brews resentment among the residents saying that despite of strict vigilance the miscreants managed to smuggle the cows from the area.
It has been prolonged many days that the smuggling of cow has been going on but no initiative has been taken to curb the rising smuggling in the area, complained the locals.
Besides, a section of people alleged that due to the under table connection between police and smugglers the police are not doing anything to stop the smuggling of Phensedyl and contraband items.
They further mentioned that every time the officials assure for proper investigation and to keep strict vigilance but the miscreants somehow manages to steal the cows from the area.
However, the rampant smugglings in the sub-division prevails tension and leading to huge loss of the people in the area which brews resentment in the area.
