Agartala, Sept 16 (TIWN): Construction work of Tripura’s first fly over from Drop Gate to Old High Court premises is expected to kick start by end of the current fiscal year, highly placed official of PWD department confirmed on September 16.
Managing Director (MD) of BKS Infratech Management Pvt Ltd VK Srivastava conducted a power point presentation on the conceptual drawing of two and half km fly over in the Civil Secretariat's conference hall today.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury and Urban Development department Manik Dey remained present.
As per the plan, the proposed fly over will be constructed from Drop Gate to Old High Court premises covering Nagerjala, Battala and Joynagar.
The New Delhi based company has been asked to submit final DPR of the project by December 26 so that work could be kicked off by end of March, said Chief Engineer of PWD Sunil Bhowmik.
After getting final DPR, the PWD will float tender for the project within next two months. Bhowmik, who was present in the power-point presentation, said the government wants to start the prestigious project by the current financial year. Of the project is implemented, the traffic congestion would be ceased significantly, he said adding that the estimated cost of the work would be around Rs. 200 crore.
