Agartala, Sep16, (TIWN)Gopal Mugeraya, Professor in the department of Chemistry in NIT-Karataka has been appointed as the new Director of NIT, Agartala.
Department of Higher Education, Union ministry of Human Resource and Development has appointed him. At present, he is the Dean (Students’ Welfare) of NIT-Karnataka.
Prof. Mugeraya is also an alumnus of department of chemical engineering of KREC, which was rechristened at NIT-K. He is also the Chairman of technical committee of KSPCB and member of the board of governors of NIT-K. He has contributed in the field of solid waste management, BT and environmental pollution.
He obtained PhD from IISc, Bangalore and advanced training from University of California, Riverside, USA. He served in NIT-K at various levels for 29 years including head of Chemical Engineering. Earlier he also served as an Advisor-I of AICTE, New Delhi.
