AGARTALA, Feb 7 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the upcoming 34th Agartala Book Fair of 2016, full- fledged preparation is going on at the Umakanta Academy ground.
Workers are enthusiastically participating at the preparation of stalls for the upcoming book fair.
However, according to the official report the 34th Agartala Book Fair has been scheduled to start from February 14 and is expected to continue till February 25.
To meet the deadline the workers are continuing their works of setting up stalls is full-fledged manner.
According to the reports, Along with the Tripura publishers, different publishers of Bangladesh, Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati is expected to participate at the upcoming book fair.
With aim to accomplish the fair successfully, under the chairmanship of the Information and Cultural Affairs Bhanu Lal Saha a preparatory committee has been organized.
It is to be mentioned here that the Agartala book fair is being organized in the Umakanta Academy ground since the first book fair in the year 1981.
Despite the phenomenal growth of other forms of media like e-books, TV channels and Internet, the value of traditionally written books remains undiminished.
Thousands of enthusiastic readers of the State and outside the State flocked to the ongoing twelve-day book fair in Agartala that not only displays books of the state, but also provides a platform for an interaction between both readers and writers.
It is to be mentioned here that the Agartala book fair is being organized in the Umakanta Academy ground since the first book fair in the year 1981.
However, though most of the people prefer e-book there are many book lovers who waits for the book fair where they get huge collection of fictional as well as non-fictional books with various literary collection as well.
