KAMALPUR, Jan 31 (TIWN): Erstwhile sub-divisional and present District headquarters of Khowai always remained to be an ideal urban city in propaganda in the state other than Agartala. The urban designs, decorations and facilities available there, made the place a real wonder. Often people especially the leftist cadres and supporters claimed the credit to the MLA of Khowai Samir Deb Sarkar claiming him to the extent of ‘the architect of model Khowai’. However, the long cherished and hyped architecture showcasing the excellence (!) of the leftist regime full of pains and pathos as it failed to provide the commoners and commuters the much awaited comfort of journey. Co-incidentally, but the work which made each and every commuter of Khowai-Kamalpur NEC road, was conducted by the younger brother of that architect.
The parts of Kamalpur-Khowai NEC road from Singicharra up to Bachaibari remained deplorable enough. The entire stretch for almost 7 to 8 kilometers remained filled up with ditches and pot holes. No vehicle could pass the part smoothly. The commuters had to experience a terrific journey causing much problem to their physique. And the condition remained the same for almost more than a year.
But the political leaders of Khowai specially the MLA cum the architect had no way but to numb up as his younger brother conducted the work of renovation and carpeting of the road. In similar other cases, the same man would look into concerning departments to remedy the matter as early as possible. But this time he remained hopeless and so the entire party remained inactive in this issue.
