DAMCHARRA, Jan 29 (TIWN) : 7 families of Congress supporters joined the BJP in Purba Betcharra under Damcharra under North Tripura District before Village Council Election.

 The BJP Leader Dipnkar Goswami said that Chakmabasti , altogether 201 voters owing allegiance to the Congress deserter their party and joined the BJP formally by accepting the party flag.

Goswami also said that the trend of joining BJP was continuing all over the state. 'Actually despite failure of the ruling CPI (M) the Congress could never play the role of constructive opposition; this is the reason why the frustrated voters have joined the BJP and our ranks will swell all over the state' said BJP Leaders of North Tripura .
