AGARATALA, Jan 26 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee Tuesday celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm in the Capital.
Reportedly, the members of the Congress Committee have paid tribute to the national flag at the Congress Bhawan.
During the programme, PCC President Birajit Sinha, Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman, Youth Congress President Sushanta Choudhury, NSUI General Secretary Rakesh Das and other members of the committee were also present.
Along with Nation, the state also observed the day with great enthusiasm and paid tribute to the National Flag.
Along with Capital the District Committee of Congress has also celebrated the day and paid honour to the Constitution of India.
It is to be mentioned here that the day is being celebrated to honour the Constitution of India which has been enforced on 26 January 1950. However, the Indian Constitution was implemented by replacing the Government of India Act (1935).
However, the Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949. Later, it came in to effect on January 1950 with a democratic Government.
However, the main Republic Day celebration has been organized in the capital of the nation at New Delhi, at the Rajpath.
During the programme parades has taken place with display of the tankers and other item the nation used during the war at the Rajpath in the presence of the President of India, Prime Minister and other dignitaries.
However, the new Indian constitution was sketched and approved by the Indian Constituent Assembly and decided to celebrate it on 26th of January every year as India became a republic country.
