KAMALPUR, Jan 24 (TIWN): The rat which was smelt for so-long a period by the media ultimately has been found and the smell became so poignant that the CPI-M party had to sack it two heavyweight leaders to get rid of the entire story. The saga happened in the case of the Putiacharra NWDPRA embezzlement under Salema agricultural sub-division under Kamalpur at Noagaon panchayat. And after much ado, the party sacked the President of the beneficiary committee a loyal comrade kamal Das and the Kamalpur Local Secretary cum Durga Chowmuhani Vice Chairperson Birendra Kairi recently.
While clarifying about the decision, party subdivisional Secretary Anjan Das informed the media persons, “The party conducted an investigation from its part in the embezzlement of the Putiacharra NWDPRA scam.
As the implanting officer could not be able to withdraw money of this project without the signature of the President, hence our party ousted the President Kamal Das from the party for ever. Birendra Kairi, who remained to be a member of that committee and being a veteran and responsible party member, could not deny his irresponsible role to stop embezzlement.
Hence he also got instructed to resign from all his posts like Local Secretary, Vice Chairmanship of Durgachowmuhani Panchayat Samiti etc. However, Birendra Kairi not got traced with any kind of monetary embezzlement.” He was asked as why the party remained numbed all those years before the embezzlement got unearthed in 2014-15 by the commoners and media.
Answering to that, Mr. Das admitted the delay and claimed that, though it got late but the party would not let anybody mingled with corruption.
However, it got speculated that, after the party consumed all the possibilities from the corrupts; now the duo got sacked probably to save the masterminds behind the curtain.
