SANTIRBAZAR, Jan 20 (TIWN) : Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik on Wednesday has inaugurated Pilak Festival. Along with that 3days Pilak fair has also started. In a brief Programme today Minister Ratan Bhowmik inaugurated the traditional Pilak Festival in presence of DM Debasish Basu, Sabhadhipati Himanshu Roy, MLA Jasbir Tripura and other dignitaries.
During the three days, cultural programs will be held every evening where eminent artists from the state and outside the state will participate. Stalls from different departments of Govt of Tripura highlighting their achievements have also been opened. The festival will come to an end on 22nd January.
Pilak has always been one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Tripura for the Buddhists and peace loving people. Since its discovery people from different parts of the state and beyond borders have been visiting Pilak. The Tourism Department too is very keen to attract tourists to Pilak. Keeping this view in mind the Department is organizing this festival over the years. Speaking on this occasion Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik said that state govt will make a master plan to make a Tourist hub in the entire undivided South Tripura covering Pilak, Tripureswari Temple, Bhubaneswari Temple (old Raj Bari),
