BELONIA Jan 19 (TIWN):-Amidst tight security CPI(M) divisional secretary Tapas Datta along with Trilokesh Sinha and Babul Debnath surrendered in court. The trio surrendered in court after 34 days police have registered a suo motto case against them. CPM cadres led by Datta had ransacked the south district court and assaulted the employees.
They had also abused district judge Ruhidas Paul, threatening him with dire consequences. They are now in Belonia Jail and next hearing will be on 18th October. Recently father of Tapash Datta, Sukumar Datta was expired on 5th September 2015. Those three Party leaders should not give scope to Judicial system according to Political analyst. Belonia CPIM Party is in deep trouble according to Party source.
They were allegedly accused of abusing District and Sessions Judge of Belonia Ruhidas Paul during the Left Front sponsored general strike on September 02 last. Paul made a detailed account of the happenings on the day and sought legal action against the picketers. The accused persons moved an anticipatory bail petition in the High Court to evade arrest.
The High Court had asked for the case dairy. Besides Paul, the CPIM picketers attacked Sourabh Saha, SDJM of Sabroom and vandalized the court when he went to attend court proceedings. He entered the toilet to save himself from the rowdy picketers. Notably, the incident was brought to the notice of the Supreme Court.
