AGARTALA, Jan 17 (TIWN): On the auspicious occasion of 117th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Gangaprasad Sharma, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar felicitates two persons at Sukanta Academy.
Late Pandit Gangaprasad Sharma was born in the year 1899. At that time, he was a resident of Faridpur District. At the age of 14 on the request of Tripura Maharaj, Late Gangaprasad Sharma settled down in Agartala.
He was a great of literature and culture. Later, he was appointed as the scholar of the royal family.
Knowing about his excellence of the Pandit Gangaprasad Sharma, Maharaja Bir Bikram has sent him to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and his elder brother Sharat Chandra Basu for inviting them to the State.
During the programme, the participants have remembered late Pandit Gangaprasad Sharma.
However, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar pays tribute to late Pandit Gangaprasad Sharma and felicitated two people namely- Subimal Roy and one more.
Besides, remembering late Pandit Gangaprasad Sharma students were also provided with study materials.
However, during the programme, Bikas Roy, Debabrata Debroy and other were present at the programme.
