KAMALPUR, Jan 9 (TIWN): In this period, when the drastic advancement of technology changed the life and living completely, then the advent of newer gadgets and equipments played a pivotal role to curb the interest of the commoners towards books. In a recent survey conducted at USA, it got revealed that, only 4% of the teenagers remained fond to book reading. In this context, the creative writings and the participation of the youths in it became a matter of astonishment. At the same time, the future of vernacular and regional languages also came under the fear of existence.
In this situation, the Matribhasa Mission, Kamalpur arranged a discussion on the future and problems of the little magazines, on 8th January last at Durai Shibbari . ‘Little Magazine’ which always remained to be the nurturing field of literature and brought out many literary persons, almost ceased to be published in last decade. Hence the Mission arranged the discussion. In that discussion, prominent writer and the publisher of regular yearly magazine “Dhalai Raima”, Supriyo Datta, the owner publisher of “Prabah Dhalai” , Jahar Debnath, poet and SDPO of Kamalpur Uttam Banik, SDM Subhasis Das participated and discussed.
They all put the emphasis of more reading, more thinking and elaborate writing to strengthen language and literature. Students of Durai Shibbari Class XII School and locales participated in the discussion. Poets also read out their poems in that occasion. Sanjoy Das, Secretary, Matribhasa Mission expressed gratitude to all the concerned.
