Agartala, Sept 14: For maintaining transparency in various developmental works at rural areas Chief Minister Manik Sarkar of Tripura directed to constitute a social audit committee before Durga Puja. He was addressing a review meeting of State Employment Guarantee Council at civil secretariat conference hall here today. The chief minister said constitution of such committees will help to reduce corruption and speedy implementation of works, besides vigilance and monitoring meeting should held at regular intervals.
It is to be noted that a vigilance committee was constituted head by elected members from both houses of the Parliament.
Mr. Sarkar in his address also directed the concerned District Magistrates (DMs) to closely monitor Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) implementation at Tripura Autonomous Tribal District Council (TTAADC). Besides, all DMs were also directed to identify and cancel the names of government employees and deceased from job cards by October, this year.
