AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): Just after Tripura could recover from the shock of the earthquake which recently rocked Manipur, and other state, another medium intensity earthquake, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, on Friday hit Arunachal Pradesh spreading serious panic across Tripura. According to the Ministry report, the quake hit Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh at 7:12 PM at a depth of 23 kms. There were no immediate reports of loss of life or property.Several multi-storeyed buildings developed cracks due to quake in Tripura with its epicentre in Manipur's Tamenglong district bordering area on Monday last.Incidents of a wall collapse and crack in one house were reported from other districts of Tripura.
The water bodies rose in waves to a considerable height during the quake, as the local people claims.
The tremor also shook Tripura massively where hundreds of people ran out of their homes and assembled on the streets. The tremors were felt in the interior parts of the state.
